Established in 1926. College of Marin (COM) is located approximately 15 miles north of San Francisco in Marin County. The College consists of two campuses. The Kentfield Campus is located in Central Marin; the Indian Valley campus is located in North Marin.

The Kentfield Campus consists of seventeen permanent buildings and several portable buildings. The campus is located on seventy-seven acres of land. The Indian Valley Campus has twenty-two buildings and is situated on 333 acres. The College employs 337 permanent staff and faculty and many part-time employees.

The College offers more than 60 degree programs leading to an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree. Twenty-nine of the programs also offer a Certificate of Achievement. The College has established approximately 200 transfer agreements with the University of California, California State University, and private colleges.

People attend College of Marin to take credit classes as well as Community Education and Services classes for self-enriching or professional growth.
